Spring Open House & Community ARTS Exhibition
To celebrate the end of our Community ARTS & ARTS @ Work Spring Sessions we invited families, friends, community members, and all the youth, teaching artists, and interns who participated in these programs to visit the ARTS Center to showcase the amazing work they produced over the last few months!
Our Gallery was filled with artwork from youth ages 6 to 18 and featured work from each one of the 10 courses we offered at the ARTS Center this spring.
Throughout the day, we got to hear from the young artists, interns and teaching artists themselves with a presentation from each course and we offered guided tours of the ARTS Center.
We had over 150 guests to the ARTS Center on the day of the open house and the exhibition is still on display in the ARTS Gallery.
Care Interns
This Spring we accomplished so many things and we couldn't have done it without our team of interns who were led by ARTS Programs Assistant, Ada Shido! One of the many projects they worked on over the last few months was the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Wall that was included in the Open House & Community ARTS Exhibition to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month this May.
This Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Celebration Wall aims to demonstrate the cultural relevancy of AAPI history by highlighting its intersections with American history and our sociopolitical contributions and advancements since 1750. The ARTS team has supported the creation of this piece, and our AAPI-identifying interns have brought it to life by sharing their stories in origami form.
We are so thankful for all the interns who joined us this Spring, we hope you had a rewarding experience with us at ARTS!
