Director of Resource Development
Jena Olson’s personal mission statement is “Do as much good in the world as possible.” She believes the best way to do this is by supporting and leading the efforts of mission-driven companies, and is particularly passionate about creative youth development and social justice organizations. Prior to joining ARTS, Olson honed her skills in fundraising, leadership & management, and strategic planning over 15 years working with nonprofits including University of Wisconsin, Mainly Mozart, and The AjA Project.
Olson is a graduate of the Social Justice Training Institute, and has presented on race & diversity at the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE) as well as the University of San Diego Nonprofit Governance Symposium.
Additionally, Olson ran a highly successful photography business between 2004 and 2014, with clients such as the ACLU and Pannikin Coffee. She was voted one of the top 5 photographers in San Diego in 2009.
She holds a BA with honors in Women’s Studies and Political Science from University of Wisconsin and an MA in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from University of San Diego.
